  • S&T at World Fire Congress

    S&T is pleased to participate in the U.S. Fire Administration’s inaugural World Fire Congress. The two-day event aims to establish a global fire leadership network that will strengthen the fire services around the world.

    Firefighter safety is an important part of the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) First Responder Capability Program. Through partnerships with other agencies and private industry, S&T has developed technology solutions to help keep our communities safe and respond to disasters.

    From user identity and data privacy technologies, to end-system security and software assurance, securing and protecting our nation’s cyber networks is a key priority for S&T. The annual Rivest, Shamir, and Adelman (RSA) Conference welcomes cybersecurity professionals from around the world to discuss ideas and solutions to combat current and future cybersecurity concerns.

    Under Secretary Dimitri Kusnezov will deliver the keynote address, highlighting the importance of science and technology advances in preparing the Department for an unpredictable future, on Tuesday, January 23. On Wednesday, January 24, Arun Vermury, Senior Advisor for Biometrics and Identity Technologies, will join a panel on the future of biometrics and identity technology across DHS.
