Below are frequently asked questions related to the Committee Management Office.

Q: Who is my main point of contact for DHS Federal Advisory questions?

A: Please contact the CMO and we will coordinate responses to your request with the Designated Federal Officer and any other appropriate official here at DHS.

Q: Where can I find information about the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Advisory Committees?

A:  Each DHS Advisory Council has a dedicated public website.  You can search the GSA Federal Advisory Committee Act Database which can be found here: www.facadatabase.gov.

From the FACA database website: "The Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) database is used by Federal agencies to continuously manage an average of 1,000 advisory committees government-wide. This database is also used by the Congress to perform oversight of related Executive Branch programs and by the public, the media, and others, to stay abreast of important developments resulting from advisory committee activities."

Q: What is an Annual Comprehensive Review (ACR)?

A: This is a report that provides information on FACA committee activities for each fiscal year and is due at the end of each fiscal year. GSA maintains the report on an electronic data base that is updated by the DFO throughout the year. The CMO provides due dates and instructions for close out of the report at the end of each year. The CMO, in coordination with GSA, reviews and verifies the reports for accuracy and completeness of information. 41 C.F.R. § 102-3.175(b).
