Webinars

Security and Protection of Dams and Levees

The Introduction to Security and Protection of Dams and Levees Webinar is designed for dam organizations interested in learning more about the basics of security and resilience planning. The webinar highlights fundamental aspects of security and protection for Dams Sector facilities, including risk assessments, physical and cyber threats, security considerations and protective measures, and crisis management. Participants also learn about resources available to owners and operators, including the in-person, two-day workshop (highlighted below) that expands on these topics.

Dams Sector Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (C2M2) Implementation Training

The Dams Sector Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (C2M2) Implementation Training Webinar is designed for dam organizations interested in learning more about the model components and how to use its self-evaluation process. CISA, in collaboration with sector partners, developed the C2M2 Model, C2M2 Implementation Guide, and evaluation templates as a suite of materials to support organizations intending to conduct a self-evaluation. During the webinar, the instructor reviews the model and tips for conducting the evaluation. Participants have an opportunity to practice using the model and ask questions about the model and evaluation process.

Upcoming dates and times will be posted to the HSIN-CI Dams Portal.

Workshops

Security and Protection of Dams and Levees (L260)

The Security and Protection of Dams and Levees Workshop is designed to provide Dams Sector stakeholders with information on the fundamental aspects of security and protection for dams, levees, and related facilities. Course content includes basic concepts related to understanding risk, physical and cyber security threats and attack vectors relevant to the Dams Sector, key components of a security program, and fundamentals of incident preparedness and response. Students learn through traditional lectures and multiple group activities to reinforce the concepts learned during the course. A list of resources accompanies the course materials to enable self-guided learning after the workshop.

This workshop is designed for dam owners and operators; professional staff of dam safety and dam security programs; emergency managers at the federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial levels; and other safety, security, and incident management personnel with roles and responsibilities relevant to dams and related infrastructure.

Upcoming dates and times will be posted to the HSIN-CI Dams Portal.
